I am excited to announce that I am joining the Rogue Valley Symphony as Acting Principal Percussion for the 2023–24 season! I have been admiring Maestro Martin Majkut’s work for years, have twice played as soloist with the RVS under his baton, and am delighted to join this incredible orchestra this year!

RVS celebrates the centennial of George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with pioneering pianist Jeffrey Biegel, featuring the iconic work by Gershwin and Peter Boyer’s Rhapsody in Red, White & Blue to mark the occasion.

Following the triumphant performance of Peter Boyer’s Ellis Island in 2021, RVS will stage the west coast premiere of Boyer’s new Rhapsody in Red, White, & Blue. Soloist Jeffrey Biegel conceived the project to celebrate the centennial of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, and is endeavoring to play the piece in all 50 states.

In recent years, Boyer’s profile as a “go-to composer” for American subject matter in the classical music world has risen ever higher. He is one of the most frequently performed American orchestral composers of his generation. Don’t miss his tribute to Gershwin in this exciting new work!

Performances are Saturday and Sunday, 3:00pm, at the Craterian Theater in Medford.
